Role overview
Ripon Group is seeking a proactive and customer‑focused Ground Care Sales Specialist to join our expanding division. If you are passionate about turf and garden machinery, including robotic mowing solutions and enjoy a hands‑on, customer‑facing role, this could be the perfect opportunity.
You will use your technical knowledge and strong communication skills to support sales across our full ground care range. This includes showroom sales of mowers and handheld tools, as well as customer demonstrations and equipment handovers. You will also develop an understanding of Commercial Turf equipment to support professional walk‑in enquiries.
In this role, you will make a direct and meaningful impact on customer satisfaction and overall sales success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Represent Ripon Ground Care in the sale and support of garden machinery and accessories
* Build strong, lasting relationships with customers
* Conduct on-site demonstrations and deliver customer handover training
* Use CRM systems and follow the Company sales processes to maintain compliance
* Ensure machinery is invoiced before delivery and support follow-up on outstanding payments
* Attend shows, customer events, and support internal teams when required
* Promote the company and our brands, including John Deere, Hayter, Honda, Husqvarna, Mountfield and Stihl, with professionalism and integrity
* Assist in general depot duties, including stock checks, pricing, and presentation
* Adhere to all Health & Safety standards
Working Pattern
Working hours will need to be flexible to meet seasonal demands, with different patterns during peak and out‑of‑peak periods.
* Peak Season: Tuesday to Saturday
* Out of Season: Monday to Friday
What We’re Looking For:
* 1+ years’ experience in equipment sales (this is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided)
* Enthusiastic, proactive, and customer-first attitude
* Good understanding of garden machinery and industry practices
* Confident using digital tools, internet functions, and sales systems
* Familiarity with ground care products, including competitor products
* Strong analytical and communication skills
* Flexibility to work extended hours when needed, including Saturdays on a rota
* Reliable, honest, and team-oriented approach
* Ability to work under pressure
Ability to commute/relocate:
* Ripon HG4 1TT: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
