Join Our New Flagship Female Acute/PICU & Mental Health Rehabilitation Service:
Cygnet Kenney House is a purpose-built, flagship facility located in Oldham, opened in April. We are seeking experienced, resilient, and dedicated Registered Mental Health/Learning Disability Nurses to join our founding team. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the culture, practices, and success of this new service.
Developed in collaboration with the NHS, the facility aims to support women from the North West to receive treatment closer to home. There are three wards at Cygnet Kenney House:
- The PICU and Acute environments offer rapid access to care, supporting women to transition quickly and safely to the most appropriate and least restrictive setting.
- The mental health rehabilitation and recovery ward (Level 2) supports individuals moving on from the Acute ward and accepts external referrals from services such as secure units, CAMHS, and prison services.
Your Day-to-Day...
* Produce comprehensive written reports based on assessments and observations.
* Collaborate with the management team to develop and improve the service. Participate in audits and quality initiatives.
* Attend training and engage in CPD to enhance your knowledge and nursing practice.
* Ensure care plans are complete and maintained in accordance with NMC guidelines, involving residents, relatives, and healthcare professionals.
* Administer prescribed medications following healthcare procedures and regulations.

The Successful Candidate:
* Current and valid registration with the NMC as a Registered Mental Health/Learning Disability Nurse.
* Previous experience in Acute/PICU settings is preferred but not essential; willingness to learn and adapt is crucial.
* Flexible and open-minded to thrive in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and compassion.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with patients and their families.
* Willingness to undertake physical care needs, demonstrating a hands-on approach.
* Advocate for patient rights, committed to patient-centered care, ensuring their voices are heard.
