Job Summary
Join our friendly Cardiology Diagnostics team covering 3 hospitals and 2 community diagnostic centres. Your base will be at William Harvey Hospital with rotations to Kent & Canterbury Hospital, Thanet CDC (Broadstairs) and QEQM Hospital (Margate). The role involves welcoming patients, managing appointments, and ensuring timely investigation while maintaining excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
* Book outpatients from GP and internal referrals for appropriate investigations in order of clinical need and within target wait times; maintain the patient database and generate letters.
* Maintain a waiting list for investigations and schedule extra clinics to reduce waiting times.
* Validate written and electronic tracking steps upon patient discharge.
* Alert the department coordinator of missing data or quality issues and ensure urgent referrals are prioritised.
* Photocopy required documents.
* Answer telephone enquiries and transfer calls to the appropriate staff member.
* Use Allscripts PAS and Sunrise to check and update patient details, ensuring changes of address and GP are recorded correctly.
* Perform other clerical duties appropriate to the grading.
Qualifications
* English and Maths Grade C or equivalent.
* Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages.
* Able to work both as a member of a team and independently.
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Experience with Allscripts PAS & Sunrise (desirable).

* Previous experience working with the public.
* Awareness of and adherence to the Trust’s Vision, Mission and Values.
Other Requirements
* Applicants requiring skilled worker sponsorship may only be considered for a fixed‑term role until the expiry date of the visa.
Benefits
Band 2, permanent part‑time contract, annual salary of £25,272, working pattern flexible, and part of a large NHS Trust serving a local population of approximately 800,000 people.
