About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Site HSE to join our Transmissions team based in Middlesborough. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and supervising Health Safety and Environment activities within Prysmian sites. As a Site HSE you will ensure that all HSE activities at project level are carried on in accordance with the UK applicable laws and regulations, client requirements and company Environmental and Safety Standards.
Prysmian fields five of the most state-of-the-art cable-laying vessels in the world. We deliver turnkey projects for the construction of underground and submarine power links for high power interconnectors and for offshore wind farms. From shallow waters to depths of up to 3,000 metres, our fleet of cable-laying vessels allows us to install submarine cables all over the world.
Responsibilities
1. To ensure HSE coordination and compliance with the company policy procedures and to coordinate with site team to implement all the actions required.
2. Ensure vessel operations continue complying with ISM Code rules, SOLAS and MARPOL.
3. Actively assist in Risk Management process (i.e. HAZID, HAZOP) and Permit To Work system.
4. To facilitate accidents/incidents investigation, carry out analysis of these, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
5. Conduct HSE audits, both internal and external. (ISO 45001 and 14001).
6. To develop and carry out HSE training programs and promote a safety behavioral culture.
7. support the HSE company (i.e. Milan HQ) activities (e.g. procedures implementation, management system maintenance, training, indicators analysis and improvement initiatives).
8. To perform audit and inspections as per management system / continuous improvement and reduce likelihood of accidents.
Qualifications & Requirements
9. Hold sound knowledge of HSE Management.
10. Ideally hold experience within EPCI work environment, preferably Onshore and Offshore Construction and Installation activities and vessel operation. Manufactory/production experience will be a plus.
11. Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards; experience in preparation and maintenance of HSE Management Systems and auditing understanding.
12. Qualified as lead auditor is desirable, however not essential.
13. Demonstratable strong leadership skills. People management/influencing and organizational skills.
14. Ideally familiar with working in international and multicultural environment.
15. Familiar with HAZOP and HAZID methodologies and PTW.
16. Knowledge of UK legislation regarding HSE matters and with the International Maritime Organization ISM Code, Solas and Marpol.
