Overview
As the Theatre Team Leader you will plan and order future lists, manage and develop staff, and work with members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a high standard of care to patients. You will assist the Theatre Manager in the management of the department, including deployment of staff, equipment, supplies and other resources. You will oversee the Obstetric service delivered in theatre, assist with training and educating staff, and act as the link for the department at meetings.
There are two posts: one at Scunthorpe General Hospital and one at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby.
Main duties of the job
* Plan and order future lists.
* Manage and develop staff.
* Work with the multidisciplinary team to provide timely, high standard of care.
* Assist the Theatre Manager in departmental management.
* Deploy staff, equipment, supplies and other resources.
* Carry out 24‑hour responsibility for the department in the absence of the Theatre Manager.
* Oversee Obstetric service in theatre.
* Assist with staff training and education.
* Act as the link for the department at meetings, disseminating any changes to practice or equipment.
Person Specification
Education
* Registered nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
Knowledge and skills
* Minimum 2 years post‑registration experience.
* Sound surgical scrub skills in all Obstetric procedures undertaken in Theatre.
* Leadership and management qualification.
* Experience of teaching in practice.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and will require a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
