for 12-month interns within the Documentation team for Simcenter STAR-CCM+, Simcenter Amesim, Simcenter FLOEFD, and related Simcenter products.
These internships are well suited for undergraduatestudents on courses that include a year in industry. The positions are based inthe Hammersmith office in London and can start from June 2024 onwards.
Simcenter STAR-CCM+ is used by thousands of engineersaround the world in multiple industries to simulate aerodynamics, heattransfer, reacting flows, particle dynamics, and solid stress. Simcenter Amesimprovides model-based simulation capabilities for mechatronic systems in adiverse range of applications. Simcenter FLOEFD integrates flow and thermalsimulation capabilities within several popular CAD software systems.
What we’re looking for
The Documentation team is responsible for producing end-user documentation, tutorials, and othertechnical information for several products within the Simcenter portfolio.The team is distributed across several offices in Europe and the US, includingthe Hammersmith office in London.
Joining as a 12-month intern provides you with anexcellent opportunity to experience technicalwriting at a high level given the breadth of physics that the Simcenterproducts can model.
What you’ll be doing
1. Apply your technicalknowledge in understanding computational engineering analyses using softwareproducts within the Simcenter portfolio.
2. Liaisewith technical experts and software developers in researching new productfeatures and obtaining relevant insight
3. Becomea proficient technical author in a team that uses industry-leading XML contentdevelopment tools (oXygen XML Author and SDL Tridion Docs)
4. Developnew material for tutorials and workflows and incorporate the latest productchanges within existing material.
5. Learnfrom members of the documentation team and subject matter experts within other teams.
6. Buildexperience in how simulation software applies within different engineeringdisciplines.
What you’ll bring
7. Beable to demonstrate that you can explainthings well in written English. Writing samples are requested as part ofthe selection process.
8. Beworking towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, physics, or mathematics.
9. Bewilling to tackle new challenges independently and as part of a team.
10. Includea covering letter in your application that explains why you are suitedto this position.
