A Vacancy at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Applications are invited for the post of a Clinical Research Fellow (ST3-5) in Gastroenterology (IBD Trials). This post is available to commence as soon as possible for 12 months. The post will initially be for 1 year but depending on satisfactory progress, the post could be extended for up to 2 years.
Responsibilities
* Be mainly involved in recruiting participants to clinical trials in inflammatory bowel disease.
* Contribute to a minimum of two IBD clinics and scheduled colonoscopy visits for patients.
* Contribute to other, commercial (clinical trials) and investigator-led research activities and work closely with research nurses as well as existing clinical research fellows within the department.
* Develop a programme of research depending on the candidate’s interest.
* Commit to the provision of endoscopy and outpatient clinics; sessions are worked at flexible times planned one month in advance to cover leave and Consultant ward commitments.
Qualifications and requirements
* Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
* The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
