Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision : Lead, manage, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and staff. Assign daily tasks and oversee the execution of maintenance activities. Conduct performance evaluations and provide training to improve skills and safety awareness. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department. Maintenance Management : Develop and implement a proactive preventive maintenance (PM) program to ensure the longevity and efficiency of all equipment and machinery. Manage unplanned maintenance activities and prioritize critical repair tasks to minimize production downtime. Coordinate with other departments (e.g., operations, production, engineering) to ensure timely and efficient maintenance support. Equipment & Facility Management : Oversee the proper functioning of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Ensure that all machinery and equipment is maintained to meet safety standards and regulatory compliance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment logs, and inspections. Budget & Inventory Control : Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring that maintenance costs stay within approved limits. Manage parts and materials inventory, ensuring that spare parts are available and properly stored. Work with vendors and suppliers to source high-quality parts at competitive prices. Safety & Compliance : Ensure compliance with regulations, including safety standards and environmental requirements. Working with the H&S Manager enforce safety procedures, ensuring all maintenance activities are conducted safely. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and employee safety training. Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving : Provide expert troubleshooting and problem-solving for equipment malfunctions or failures. Oversee repairs and ensure that corrective actions are taken quickly and effectively to minimize downtime. Continuous Improvement : Analyse maintenance data and performance metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities. Implement improvements in maintenance processes, tools, and techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Encourage innovation and the use of new technologies in maintenance practices.
