About the Role:
Are you looking to make a positive impact in education and support students' academic progress? We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join our team and help maintain continuity in the classroom when teachers are absent. As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in overseeing students, ensuring they stay on task, and supporting their learning in a variety of subjects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise students during lessons in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring that work is completed on time and to a high standard
* Provide classroom management to maintain a safe, productive, and respectful learning environment
* Follow lesson plans left by the absent teacher, ensuring continuity of learning for all students
* Support students in academic tasks, offering guidance and encouragement where needed
* Assist in behaviour management and implement school policies to ensure a positive atmosphere
* Liaise with the teaching staff and leadership team to ensure that students are effectively supported during lessons
* Maintain accurate records of student behaviour and progress during the cover session
Qualifications:
* Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting (although no formal teaching qualification is required)
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Ability to manage groups of students effectively and implement classroom management strategies
* Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude toward working with young people
* A good understanding of school procedures and student well-being
* A passion for education and helping students succeed
