Salary: Circa £41,000 per annum, plus car allowance £1,816 per annum
Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week
Location: Maidenhead - with opportunity to balance with remote working
About The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and supportive Community Services Team Leader to oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of our sheltered and extra care housing services. In this role, you’ll lead a small team of Sheltered Housing Officers and an Extra Care Housing Officer, ensuring residents receive a high‑quality, responsive and compassionate service. You’ll play an active part in tenancy and estate management, support residents with a wide range of housing‑related issues, and help maintain safe, welcoming and well‑managed schemes.
A key part of the role involves ensuring full compliance with health and safety requirements, including fire safety checks, safeguarding responsibilities and Housing Solutions’ involvement in resident care plans. You’ll work closely with partners, internal teams and external agencies to make sure residents receive the right support at the right time. You’ll also help shape resident engagement activities, organise community events and find creative ways to strengthen our schemes and neighbourhoods.
You’ll be a visible and approachable presence across our sheltered and extra care schemes, helping resolve issues quickly, supporting colleagues, and ensuring services run smoothly even during busy or challenging periods. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same, and where your leadership will make a real difference to residents’ lives.
About you
You’ll bring experience of leading a team or working at a senior level in a frontline housing or community‑based role, along with a genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You’re confident working in a fast‑paced environment, comfortable dealing with complex or sensitive situations, and able to stay calm, organised and solution‑focused when challenges arise.
You’ll be an effective communicator who can adapt your approach to different people and situations, whether you’re supporting a vulnerable resident, working with partner agencies or guiding your team through a difficult case. You understand the importance of accurate record‑keeping, strong administrative skills and good attention to detail, and you’re confident using housing systems and Microsoft Office.
You’ll have a good understanding of housing legislation, safeguarding responsibilities and the realities of working with residents who may be vulnerable or at risk. You’re someone who builds strong relationships, works collaboratively with colleagues across different teams and takes pride in creating safe, supportive and well‑managed communities.
If you’re passionate about supporting residents, confident leading others and motivated by making a positive impact in sheltered and extra care housing, we’d love to hear from you.
The successful applicant will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate which is considered satisfactory to Housing Solutions.
