Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication skills to guide their team towards achieving sales and KPI targets while delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the Store Manager in effectively managing all store operations to meet or exceed sales and KPI targets, including setting sales goals and tracking performance.
2. Create a positive team culture through recruitment, training, and ongoing development of staff.
3. Build a motivated, high-performing team to drive store success.
4. Analyze sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager, identifying operational and commercial opportunities.
5. Serve as the point of contact in the Store Manager's absence.
6. Provide excellent customer service, handle inquiries, and resolve complaints professionally.
7. Assist with day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
8. Support cash management tasks such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
9. Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new staff members.
10. Offer feedback and coaching to improve colleague performance.
11. Assist in maintaining colleague schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPIs:
1. Contribute to achieving or exceeding monthly sales targets.
2. Drive KPIs including units, conversion rate, ATV, and UPT.
3. Achieve upselling and cross-selling targets.
4. Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
5. Ensure stock accuracy during audits.
6. Complete mandatory training for new colleagues.
7. Maintain employee satisfaction scores and engagement survey results at or above company benchmarks.
8. Help control operational costs within the budget.
Skills and Experience:
* Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail or customer-facing environment.
* Passion for retail and awareness of current trends and competitors.
* Experience coaching and developing staff.
* Proven success in achieving sales targets and KPIs.
* Ability to analyze KPI data to inform commercial decisions.
* Attention to detail and commercial awareness; experience in visual merchandising is advantageous.
* Ability to promote JD Group values to stakeholders.
