As well as developing new build solutions with OEMs, our client offers full aftermarket support to our customers by way of spare parts supply as well as repair and overhaul services at our local workshop or at the customer location via our highly skilled workshop and field service workforce. About the Role Our client is currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer - Marine, on a permanent full-time contract, this is a Field based position. Kindly note the requirement for this role is to be away from home on a regular basis including weekends and sometimes weeks on end depending on the work that has been scheduled. This role is based remotely with visit to client site as and when required. Applicants must be fully committed to the working schedule for the role before applying. Specific Responsibilities Provide support for our client products as part of Global Marine Field Service team. Support sales teams in Marine department where appropriate. To conduct diagnostics and repairs at customer or third-party premises. Conduct major unit overhauls at customer or third-party premises. Travel and work internationally as a resource of the Global Marine Field Service team. Give assistance to sales staff on technical aspects of our client Marine products. Consult with Health & Safety, and Service Manager, on any issues arising in the day to day working at various premises. Ensure all tooling and equipment is within calibration dates. Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and their representatives. To seek and report on future business opportunities. Interface with Marine Sales and commercial department to share field service opportunities to grow the business. Work with the customer to minimise downtime. Complete stock counts in line with company plan. Willingness to travel and to be away from home as required. Undertake work within our clients workshop facilities as and when required. Complete paperwork and reports and submit as soon as practical. To train and support colleagues with product knowledge, where possible. Work unsociable hours where reasonable if required to meet customer needs. To report to the company any potential quality related issues noted during the work assignment. Ensure all training within PEP and Atlas portals are completed in a timely manner. Always represent our client in a positive and professional manner. Excellent communication skills on a technical level with both internal and external customers. Key Competencies Background in service and engineering. Marine engineering background (Royal Navy, Merchant Navy, Ships Crew, Drydocks etc.). Electrical & Mechanical experience required. HV Experience (electrical motors & Inverters). Electronic control systems. Microsoft office. Hold a valid driving licence.
