About the Role:
Are you a tax professional with experience in Lloyd’s Syndicate and/or tax technology? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll have the chance to join the Everest tax team in a role that puts you at the forefront of Syndicate Tax compliance and reporting. Your remit could expand to include non-Lloyd’s tax matters, tax technology initiatives, and broader support across our Tax team.
This is a pivotal opportunity for you to contribute to our strategic move to bring Lloyd’s Managing Agent operations in-house. You’ll play a key role in driving excellence in tax compliance, governance, and process optimisation across our group entities.
This role will be based in our London office, with the flexibility to work remotely two days a week as part of our hybrid schedule.
Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
1. With the support of external advisors, document the tax processes being picked up, identify the responsible teams and dependencies, and ensure appropriately communicated to optimise accounting/ tax processes.
2. Assist with Lloyd’s Tax compliance requirements and submissions as identified.
3. Develop an understanding of the underlying systems, available technology, accounting and financial systems in order to source the required data and identify areas of improvement.
4. Experience with data wrangling tools (e.g., Alteryx and similar), a technical ability and a focus on systems and process, with a willingness to learn about available technology.
5. Implement controls as required and ensure appropriate governance/documentation is in place.
Assisting other Everest entities with:
6. Tax reporting and compliance support of various Everest entities as required and directed.
7. Tax advisory and general business guidance.
8. Business liaison and project control across all areas of tax.
9. Assist with the proposed territorial expansion.
10. Work with all tax colleagues to identify and implement opportunities to further improve our compliance process (via automation and/ or future operating model changes).
11. An awareness of TP to assist where required under the direction of the International Head of TP, such as coordinate collection of information required for transfer pricing documentation and filings and support the drafting of core content for transfer pricing documentation.
12. Assist with the development, oversight and maintenance of the various compliance dashboards that we are looking to introduce.
13. Assisting with tax audits where applicable.
Qualifications:
14. You hold a qualification in accounting or a related field.
15. You bring experience in the insurance industry, particularly with Lloyd’s Syndicate operations.
16. You're confident working with a Multinational Insurance Company and navigating its tax reporting across various GAAPs and regulatory balance sheets.
17. You're technologically savvy, with hands-on experience using accounting systems like PeopleSoft and Oracle.
18. You're open to occasional business travel within the EU.
