Business Development Director
Assystem is an international company dedicated to accelerating the global energy transition. Our team of 8,000 Switchers works across 13 countries to deliver innovative, low‑carbon power solutions.
The role is based from any UK office and requires a degree of travel across the UK and occasionally internationally.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement comprehensive sector and market plans to support strategic growth.
* Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
* Identify new business opportunities and lead proactive pursuit activities across energy sectors.
* Collaborate with internal teams to align business development initiatives with delivery capability.
* Lead and contribute to bid strategies, ensuring competitive positioning and client alignment.
* Manage strategic accounts to ensure profitability and long‑term partnership value.
* Represent Assystem at industry events and contribute to thought leadership through publications and presentations.
* Stay informed of market trends, emerging technologies, and policy developments to inform business strategy.
Qualifications
* Proven track record in business development or client relationship management, ideally within the energy, engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
* Strong understanding of market dynamics and strategic planning.
* Skilled in building partnerships and influencing at senior stakeholder level.
* Experience leading bids, proposals, and capture plans for complex technical projects.
* Commercially astute, with a focus on achieving sustainable and profitable growth.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* A collaborative leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven environment.
