About the Role
JR PAT Testing is expanding across the UK and we are looking for PAT Engineers in Falmouth and surrounding areas. The role is self‑employed and offers flexible hours for part‑time or full‑time work.
Responsibilities
* Conduct portable appliance testing (PAT) in a variety of settings such as hospitals, offices, retail outlets, and other premises.
* Use PAT test instruments to verify that electrical items are safe for use or require repair or replacement.
* Inform users of test results, explain safety requirements and provide advice on unsafe or unfit appliances.
* Record findings in a PAT test report book or electronically and provide employers with completion certificates and other required paperwork.
* Maintain accurate test records and ensure all testing is performed safely and in compliance with relevant regulations.
* Travel to different sites, often in a van, and manage own equipment and transport.
* Stay organized and complete all tests efficiently and accurately throughout the day.
Qualifications
* City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or an equivalent, with proven competence.
* Self‑employed status with own public liability insurance.
* Own calibrated testing equipment and keeping it in good working order.
* Reliable, honest, and able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
* Ability to travel to sites within reach of Falmouth and willing to travel nationally.
* Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
