The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Tax Manager to join a specialist Property Tax team. This is a client-facing role offering a mix of compliance and advisory work, with significant scope to contribute to complex property-related tax projects. You will play a key role in managing client relationships, delivering high-quality technical work, and mentoring junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing the corporation tax compliance for a portfolio of property clients, including standalone companies and complex group structures
* Reviewing corporation tax computations and returns prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
* Proactively identifying and implementing tax-efficient solutions for clients
* Providing property-focused tax advisory services, including - structuring advice (e.g. companies, LLPs), group reorganisations and restructures, group tax planning, corporate interest restriction, withholding taxes, property acquisitions and disposals, tax due diligence for transactions.
* Managing billing processes and monitoring work in progress
* Line managing and developing junior staff through coaching, feedback and the appraisal process
* Contributing to business development initiatives, including involvement in the firm’s property sector group and attending networking events
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients, ideally within the property sector
* Strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax
* CTA qualification (or equivalent) preferred
* Confident working autonomously while also contributing effectively within a team
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate
* A proactive mindset with the creativity to identify tax opportunities and risks
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook; familiarity with AlphaTax is advantageous
