We have an exciting opportunity to join the Brakspear family as the Sales and Events Manager for our managed estate Honeycomb Houses. Being a new role, this is a fantastic opportunity to bring in your own ideas, creativity and leadership.

We’re lucky to have beautiful pubs but we think it’s the people, running the pubs who matter, and that means we do things differently at Brakspear. We are still family-owned and run, which means we make all our decisions for the long-term benefit of our company, our pub business owners and our guests. Honeycomb Houses is born-and-bred from our parent company, Brakspear, which came to life all the way back in 1779. Each of our 12 houses stands independently with their own distinctive features and charm, while maintaining the high standards associated with Honeycomb Houses.


We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales & Events Manager with a strong commercial mindset and proven experience in revenue management to join our growing hospitality group. This is a new role that requires a strong background in hospitality sales and room revenue. A blend of strategic sales and events leadership, and data-driven revenue management across our portfolio of premium pubs, inns and restaurants. You will lead a small team generating and converting leads across key segments such as leisure, corporate, travel and local community, while also directing business to our wedding, banqueting, party, private dining, conference and outside spaces.

Working closely with GMs at each site and the central marketing team, you will execute sales initiatives that reflect the identity of Honeycomb Houses and the individuality of each property while contributing to the success of our wider business.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Events Management

* Develop and implement sales plans to grow events bookings such as weddings, conferences, private parties and other large group bookings.
* Identify new business opportunities across key segments such as leisure, corporate, travel and the local community.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and local businesses.
* Liaise regularly with individual hotel GMs to align sales efforts with property needs and seasonal goals.
* Collaborate with the marketing team to develop plans to create sales opportunities and support conversion of those opportunities.
* Provide sales training and support to on-site teams as needed to develop a strong sales culture.
* Represent Honeycomb Houses at wedding fairs, trade shows, networking events, and client presentations.

Revenue Management

* Working with our established pricing software, analyse demand patterns and performance data to forecast demand and adjust rate plans accordingly, maximising average room rate and occupancy.
* Manage online distribution channels and work closely with digital marketing to grow and optimise visibility and support the roll out of promotions and seasonal offers.
* Recommend pricing tiers, special offers, and packaging strategies to ensure profitable growth.

Team Leadership

* Create and develop a central reservations team to deliver outstanding guest service and accurate reservation handling.
* Ensure all inbound calls, emails, and online enquiries are responded to promptly and professionally.
* Optimise use of PMS and CRS tools to support efficiency and maximise bookings
* Develop and refine SOPs for reservation handling, group bookings, and guest communications.
* Collaborate with marketing and operations to share guest insights and improve the end-to-end booking journey.

Performance & Reporting

* Produce monthly activity reports for the SLT that monitor and report on KPIs including:
* lead generation,
* conversion rates,
* events analysis
* revenue growth
* central reservations efficiency.
* Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify trends and adapt plans accordingly.


About You:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in hotel sales and/or events management, with at least 1 year in a revenue management role.

• Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue KPIs.

• Strong understanding of hotel PMS and revenue management systems.

• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Commercially astute with a strategic approach to business development.

• Flexibility to travel between properties across the Thames Valley and the Cotswolds.

• Experience in multi-property hospitality groups (desirable)
