An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hire Desk Controller in an independently owned Company based in Leicester. In return, we offer a competitive rate of pay, free parking, in house training and supplied PPE. We have been established in the Leicester area for over 40 years and provide medium and small plant hire 300 customers. We have a well-respected reputation throughout the Midlands for reliability, service, and extensive knowledge. We are looking for someone who has Plant Hire experience. As a Hire Desk Controller you will be responsible for planning the delivery and collections of plant / equipment and aiding the hire desk with the completion of customer contracts. Your work would involve: • Maintain high levels of communication with drivers, customers and departments. • Proactively work to reduce late deliveries. • Utilise the Hire Management Software (Syrinx) to process both on hire and off hire requirements received. • Maximise the utilisation of internal plant and equipment, before placing with external hire through a number of selected and approved suppliers to ensure equipment meets safety and specification requirements. • Utilise live hire system reports and management information to identify and close out queries and opportunities. • Assisting customers immediately and with courtesy, whether it be on the hire desk, counter or over the telephone. • Aiding customers in selecting suitable plant/equipment for their job. • Ensuring that the plant / equipment being hired is legally compliant. • Be proficient in all aspects of plant hire processing and general administration. • Engage with the supply chain to satisfy requests, raise hire contracts and purchase orders using Key2 always ensuring accuracy. • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers. • Generating new business into the company. • Assisting in periodic plant / equipment stock takes. • Liaise with all departments, including Transport, Plant Fitters, and Management to ensure customer orders and enquires are completed in a timely manner. • Highlight equipment and areas of opportunity, communicating identified opportunities to the Operations Manager. Hire Desk Controller Criteria: • Strong communication and IT fluency. • The ability to handle pressure. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work on own initiative and manage own time effectively. • Strong planning and organisational skills. • Highly customer focused. • Excellent administration skills. • Professional attitude to work. Salary – Negotiable on age and experience – Starting at £25,000 Hours – Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm Skills and Qualifications required Plant Hire experience. Strong customer service skills Strong verbal communication and IT fluency. Hours per week Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
