THE EMPLOYER IS: THE MUSIC YARD LTD We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and energetic Arts & Music Engagement Coordinator to support and deliver a range of music and performing-arts sessions. The ideal candidate will be a multi instrumentalist with music technology experience and have a proven history of working with children and adults with disabilities. This role requires someone calm, patient, reliable and able to adapt their approach to suit a variety of learning styles and abilities. Training, induction and safeguarding support will be provided. This role involves working with vulnerable groups and requires commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging music and arts sessions for children, young people and adults with disabilities.
* Support participants in developing musical, creative and performance skills in a safe, inclusive environment.
* Demonstrate and teach multiple instruments across a variety of genres and ability levels.
* Use music-technology tools (e.g., Logic, GarageBand, recording equipment, PA systems) to enhance sessions.
* Assist with creative development for performances, showcases and events.
* Work collaboratively with The Music Yard team, parents/carers, and external partners.
* Maintain accurate attendance records, safeguarding documentation and session notes.
* Help set up, operate and pack down equipment (instruments, PA, tech setup).
* Contribute to the development of new ideas, projects and programmes.
* Uphold The Music Yard’s values of inclusion, respect and creativity.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Experience working with children, young people and adults with disabilities.
* Ability to play multiple musical instruments confidently.
* Strong knowledge of music technology (recording, live sound, digital audio workstations, microphones, DI boxes, etc.).
* Enhanced AccessNI check (or willingness to obtain).
* Ability to demonstrate a calm, patient manner and the ability to manage group dynamics sensitively.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in community arts, performing-arts facilitation or inclusive music-making.
* Experience in music, community arts, special needs education, or related fields.
* Experience in live sound engineering or stage management.
* Ability to contribute creatively to new projects and performances.
