Job Description: Care Assistant within Adult Services
Join Fife Council as a Care Assistant and become part of a dedicated team supporting individuals with long-term health conditions and disabilities. Your role will involve empowering service users to take control of their lives, promoting social inclusion, and enhancing their independence in community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support individuals with daily living skills, personal care, housework, shopping, cooking, and attending appointments.
* Administer medication, keep records, and update support plans.
* Maintain regular contact with family, friends, and community activities.
* Assist with social events, education, work opportunities, and holidays.

Candidates must have or be willing to obtain the Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 6 (SVQ2) or equivalent for SSSC registration.
Responsibilities include personal care, moving and handling tasks, and flexibility in working hours to meet service user needs.
The role requires good communication, organizational, teamwork, literacy, and IT skills. Candidates must work well both independently and as part of a team.
Before starting, you will need to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and apply for SSSC registration within three months of employment.
