Reporting to the Head of People & Culture (HPC), and as an integral member of the Business Solutions Team ( BST ), the purpose of this role is to provide assistance across all areas of the employee life cycle with a focus on our support and mid-level lawyer cohorts from recruitment and selection, onboarding, training and development, employee movements and resource planning. Working closely with our HPC, our People & Culture Business Consultant and other members of the BST, this role is designed to add value to the business by delivering on key people and culture initiatives to meet it’s strategic goals. The role has a national focus working closely with the other key stakeholders across our six offices ( Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth & Sydney ). Key duties and responsibilities Day to day management of key internal client/practice groups (set out above) providing the full spectrum of P&C support across the employee life cycle including: Recruitment Collaborating with key stakeholders (Principals/Managers/CCO) to determine appropriate resourcing needs and confirming financial viability of new recruits Managing the internal recruitment processes end to end to source high quality candidates for vacant roles Conducting interviews Negotiating employment offers and terms Onboarding Facilitate the successful on-boarding of new employees, ensuring their first impression of our business is positive and representative of our firm’s values Overseeing the creation of customised induction schedules for new employees within relevant client group, including liaising with relevant internal stakeholders when necessary, running inductions and ensuring a smooth transition into the business Following up with new starters to ensure they are settling in well and arranging any refresher training as required Employee relations Building trusted relationships with all employees through providing best practice HR support Undertaking ad hoc check ins with Principals/Managers and employees Performance & Remuneration Reviews Ensuring probation reviews are conducted in a timely manner with regular feedback sought from Principals/Managers and managing any areas of concern Undertaking performance management with any team member who is under-performing in their role and managing process with oversight from HPC Preparing documentation for performance improvement plans Assisting with annual performance reviews and the remuneration process including preparing detailed market benchmarking analysis and assisting with issuing remuneration letters to employees Health & Wellbeing Co-ordinating Health & Skin Checks annually Co-ordinating Flu Vaccinations annually Co-ordinating R U Ok? Day, arranging speaker and presenting Mental Health First Aid Officer WH& S Committee Member Employee status changes Coordinating the parental leave process including calculation of associated leave entitlements, drafting and sending parental leave application forms and confirmation letters and assisting with parental leave policy queries; Preparing documentation for promotions, secondments, change in working days, hours, title changes and updating relevant systems Policies & Processes Update existing P&C policies and procedures to support the business Ensuring continuous improvement of processes and procedures with Guild Group People & Culture team (HR Support) Updating reporting/data to ensure accuracy and integrity Build and maintain strong relationships with our Business Solutions teams and key stakeholders including the People & Culture team of Guild Group HR Analytics & Reporting Engagement survey analysis and presentation Annual performance review module management Assist with WGEA data Assist with annual Legal Services Award classification and rate review Projects Re-igniting and driving our Meridian Minds Learning and Development Program through: Assisting with planning of customised learning and development across ML to meet KPI’s and CPD objectives through MeridianMinds Collaborating with Principals/Managers on L&D needs for their team members
