Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Nursing Assistant on ward 117/Infectious Diseases. Ward 117 is a 14 bedded Infectious Diseases unit offering inpatient care for a group of patients with a wide range of infections. It is a small friendly and supportive team with opportunities for development.

Application timing and sponsorship

* If you obtained your qualifications overseas, you must provide an official government translation through ECCTIS (formerly NARIC).
* If you are currently in the UK on a visa, you must have at least six months remaining on your visa at the start date. This does not apply to a Skilled Worker Visa, which would require a new visa for a new role.
* In line with immigration rules (as of 8 January 2026), if sponsorship through the Skilled Worker Visa is required, you must provide B2 English evidence before a Certificate of Sponsorship can be issued.
* Visa eligibility notices: the UK Home Office has imposed an emergency brake on specific visa routes (dated guidance may apply).
* University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation; roles may not meet the skill or salary threshold for sponsorship. Graduates on a graduate visa may apply, but UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of the graduate visa and you must have at least six months remaining at the start of employment for training and operational reasons.
Qualifications and documents
* GCSEs or equivalent Certificate for Maths and English, equivalent to Level 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills Maths/English.
* If qualifications were completed overseas, you must apply for or provide an ECCTIS compatibility statement.
* Completed Care Certificate.
