Join the RAC as a SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic. Flexibility deserves recognition – and we deliver. As a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic, you’ll provide the adaptability our service relies on.
We’ll equip you for success from day one with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit all provided.
What you’ll do
This role is ideal for those who thrive in dynamic environments and are committed to supporting our members when they need it most. You’ll be ready to help, with a focus on keeping drivers moving and delivering the RAC difference on every call-out.
Compensation and schedule
* Competitive salary: £48,720 basic salary, with the opportunity to earn up to £54,000
* Shifts between 06:00 and 02:00, may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
* Average ~40 hours per week with roster provided seven days in advance and core hours confirmed three days prior

You’re more than a mechanic. You’re a problem solver, a people person, and a proud ambassador for the RAC. Whether you’re on a busy roadside or a quiet cul-de-sac, you’re calm under pressure, quick to connect, and confident in your craft.
You embrace flexibility. One moment it’s fault diagnostics, the next it’s a flat tyre or a flat battery - no two jobs are the same. You’ll manage your own kit, keep your van stocked, and handle your reports with precision.
You know how to read a situation. Our Roadside Mechanics are trusted to make the call; finding the right fix, supporting each member, and keeping everyone moving.
What you’ll need
* A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with demonstrative technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience
* A customer-focused approach
* A full UK driving licence
* Flexibility to work at relatively short notice and open to travel with overnight stays, if necessary
