What’s it all about?
Travelodge, operating over 620 hotels, is seeking an experienced Fire Safety Manager to provide expert national-level fire safety information, advice, and guidance. This critical role ensures the safety of all guests, staff, and others affected by the company's operations, guaranteeing full compliance with relevant fire safety and H&S legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, British Standards, and industry best practice.
You’ll be the lead resource for the H&S Team on fire-related matters, working closely with internal stakeholders—including Capital Projects, Maintenance, Regional Directors, and Area Operations Managers—as well as external bodies like the Fire Service Primary Authority and other enforcement agencies. The job holder will play a pivotal part in actively promoting a positive risk management culture across the business.
You’ll focus on the effective delivery of the fire safety audit programme, monitoring corrective actions, and providing essential advisory support to Area Operations and Hotel Managers, including liaison with enforcement authorities like Fire Safety Officers and the HSE. You will be responsible for providing regular national/regional fire safety performance data and trend analysis, and you will lead or support investigations into serious or complex fire safety incidents. A crucial element of the role involves designing and delivering fire safety related training programmes at all organisational levels, facilitating the sharing of best practice, and ensuring that no new or acquired hotel opens without the appropriate fire safety advice, support, and a fully checked fire risk assessment.

Who will this appeal to?
You will be experienced in designing and delivering fire safety training. If you are a member of the Institute of Fire Engineers or equivalent, or have relevant experience and qualifications for IFE membership it would be a bonus.
In addition you will be a strong communicator, experienced and enjoy building internal stakeholder relationships. You will have the confidence to influence at all levels, project a positive presence and hold credibility in their role. It is imperative that you are effective at establishing and demonstrating a good fire safety/ H&S culture across the business.
