Overview
Position: Chef at Prezzo Italian. Salary: £12.50 - £13 per hour, depending on experience and skill level, plus tronc. The Line Chef role places you at the heart of our kitchen, crafting delicious, high-quality dishes with focus on food quality, presentation and safety. You’ll work as part of a team to keep service smooth and connected, with a structured training path from Chef 1 to Chef 2 to Chef 3.
Responsibilities
* Working hand in hand with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to keep kitchen operations running smoothly and to a high standard.
* Delivering consistently high-quality food with pace, care, and heart in every service.
* Supporting fellow team members in their learning and development—sharing skills and helping others grow.
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen—creating an environment the whole team can be proud of.
* Tackling challenges head-on and playing your part in a kitchen with pace, precision, and heart.
* Following structured training and progression through Chef 1, Chef 2, and Chef 3 levels.
* Opening and closing procedures are completed correctly; report maintenance or safety concerns to the Head Chef or General Manager.
What we’re looking for
* Prepares and cooks dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
* Maintains food safety and hygiene standards, following Prezzo’s HACCP policies.
* Supports stock control by following portioning guidelines and reducing waste. Ensures accurate completion of kitchen paperwork, including temperature logs and cleaning records.
* Delivers exceptional food quality and presentation to enhance the guest experience.
* Works efficiently to ensure timely food service.
* Supports the Head Chef in handling guest feedback professionally. Works collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Assists in training and developing junior kitchen team members. Maintains a positive and inclusive working environment.
* Follows all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
* Reports any maintenance or safety concerns to the Head Chef or General Manager. Ensures kitchen opening and closing procedures are completed correctly.
