Job Title Calibration & Maintenance Engineer Role Purpose Provide technical expertise in the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of calibration and maintenance activities to ensure GMP manufacturing and testing assets remain compliant, reliable, and fit for purpose. Key Responsibilities Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for calibration, metrology, and planned maintenance practices. Define and implement maintenance and calibration strategies aligned with cGMP requirements and industry best practices. Develop, review, and approve maintenance and calibration documentation across the equipment lifecycle. Coordinate and oversee internal and external maintenance and calibration activities through the CMMS. Support new equipment introduction, including development of calibration and maintenance plans. Provide technical input into service agreements with external vendors. Maintain and update technical standards for calibration and maintenance in collaboration with engineering peers. Ensure GMP compliance, data integrity, and good documentation practices (GDP) in all work activities. Support regulatory inspections and audits, maintaining a continuous state of inspection readiness. Manage and contribute to quality system processes, including risk assessments, deviations, CAPAs, and change controls. Promote strong health, safety, and environmental practices within all maintenance activities. Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, service, and cost efficiency. Key Performance Indicators On-time completion of planned maintenance and calibration activities Effective response to unplanned maintenance events Timely completion of safety and quality commitments Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in calibration, maintenance, and/or metrology within regulated environments Knowledge of GMP requirements and regulatory inspection expectations Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and maintenance workflow development Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills Experience & Qualifications Experience performing or supervising maintenance in GMP-regulated facilities Experience managing or developing CMMS systems and maintenance programmes HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
