Futures are looking to appoint a mechanical fitter for a well known manufacturing business. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and production machinery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Assemble, install, and align mechanical components and machinery
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production equipment
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics
* Replace bearings, seals, gearboxes, motors, and other mechanical components
* Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
* Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
The ideal Candidate
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within a manufacturing or industrial environment
* A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent)
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Experience working with pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics (desirable)
* The ability to read technical drawings
* A proactive and safety-conscious approach
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
