Our Story Founded in 1996 by friends John Sims-Hilditch and Giles Redman, Neptune design and make kitchens, furniture and accessories for your whole home. Recognised for our exacting standards, design-led aesthetic and expert craftsmanship, we're perhaps most known for our kitchens - with heirloom-worthy dressers not far behind. Neptune's trademark 'look' is British: refined, simple, sturdy, and with an almost obsessive attention to detail. We're also respected for our commitment to craft and quality. Put simply, we make things we're proud of, and that are designed to last a lifetime. We are looking for a warm and engaging Assistant Store Leader to work with our driven and enthusiastic Edgbaston team. We treat everyone who visits our stores as an individual, taking immense pride in delivering a welcoming and personalised service. As a pillar of support to the Store Manager, you'll understand that our customers are at the heart of everything we do. You'll lead by example, always striving to deliver outstanding service while surpassing store objectives. In order to consistently accomplish that, you will: Guide, support and motivate a dedicated retail team Coach, train and develop new and existing team members to become brand ambassadors Ensure operational excellence throughout the store and behind the scenes Maintain breath-taking visual merchandising and store presentation Identify customer needs and answer product related questions using your product knowledge whilst offering advice and guidance in the selection of suitable products As a positive and confident person you'll bring proven past experience in leading a high performing team within the world of retail, ideally from a home lifestyle or interiors brand. You'll be passionate about people and helping them achieve their best and a clear commitment to helping us drive the business forward. Our stores are open 7 days a week and so it's important that you'll have flexibility to work during the week and at weekends also. Neptune Edgbaston sees the restoration of a three-storey, red-brick Edwardian property on the bustling Harborne Road. We've saved the few original features that remained, such as the double-doored entrance (which joins to become one welcoming hallway) and the large bay windows, and have replicated the ones that have been lost, including cornicing, skirting and fireplaces. We also commissioned a traditional cut-string staircase with brass inlays and a solid oak banister to sit at the building's heart. And towards the rear, a glass-wrapped terrace makes a sensitively modern addition. Across all locations, we stay united by our company values: Do The Right Thing, Do It Together, Aim High and Keep It Real. What Benefits we can offer you At Neptune, we value our employees for always going above and beyond; we reward them by offering more than just a competitive salary: Generous Holiday Allowance Life Assurance Enhanced maternity and paternity leave Cycle to work scheme Generous new item and outlet discounts Competitive salary Perkbox: Wellbeing Hub and Retail Discounts Portal Your birthday day off Day off if you become a Grandparent A week off to celebrate a life event Refer a friend scheme Long service holiday allowance increase Training Workshops We are a growing business that encourages our people to grow with us.
