At Amegreen Children’s Services, we provide therapeutic residential care for children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in warm, nurturing homes across rural West Berkshire and Hampshire. Our teams use a trauma-informed, PACE-based approach to help young people feel safe, understood and able to grow, supported by strong clinical input and a warm, reflective staff culture. The role As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you’ll be part of a close-knit team providing day-to-day care, support and guidance for children and young people living in our homes. You will work a shift rota that includes days, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. What you’ll be doing Build safe, trusting relationships with children and young people Support daily routines such as school, mealtimes, activities and bedtime Help young people develop life skills, confidence and independence Plan and take part in meaningful activities, from board games to outdoor time on the trampoline and swings. Support trips and experiences such as the cinema, bowling, museums and days out at the seaside Accompany young people to school, appointments, family time and activities Keep clear, accurate notes to support care and safeguarding Work positively with colleagues, families and other professionals Experience working with children, young people or adults with additional needs (for example in residential care, schools, youth work, SEN, health or social care) is helpful but not essential. We provide full training for the right people with the right values. Training and development We provide fully funded training so you feel confident and supported in your role, including: A full induction covering all mandatory training Access to an online learning portal with 100 CPD courses Training aligned to our trauma-informed, PACE-based approach and positive behaviour support Regular supervision and reflective practice with experienced leaders and clinical support Ongoing support in the home so you can keep developing in your role Opportunities to work towards recognised qualifications and progress in your career About you We’re looking for people who are kind, patient and resilient, with a genuine desire to support children and young people. You will: Care about children’s wellbeing and want to help them feel safe and valued Bring strong communication skills and work well as part of a team Work flexibly on shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins Use basic IT for recording and reporting Be eligible to work in the UK without employer sponsorship Why work for Amegreen?
