We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Facilities Manager to lead the management of the maintenance and facilities functions for both our Derby and Romsey production facilities and offices. This is your opportunity to make a real impact.
In this pivotal role, you’ll take ownership of the facilities infrastructure across both production sites, championing and maintaining a proactive Healthy, Safety and Environment culture. You’ll be the driving force behind maintaining high standards, meeting contractual and legal requirements of the building, external fabric and grounds, car parks area and associated services.
There is a requirement to travel within the role covering both our Derby and Romsey site.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Manage maintenance and facilities of production facility, all Mechanical & Electrical equipment, production area, security systems and infrastructure across the production and office areas.
2. Maintain a robust Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system and ensure best practice methods are applied.
3. Lead project management for equipment moves, installations, and site improvements.
4. Ensure site compliance with building regulations, PUWER – Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations, LOLER – Lifting Operations and Equipment Regulations, L8 Water Management Regulations, Electricity at Work/Fixed Wire Testing, PAT – Portable Appliance Testing, WAH – Working at Height Regulations, environmental regulations and corporate sustainability goals.
5. Manage utilities and drive energy efficiency initiatives.
6. Oversee waste management, ensuring legal compliance and minimization.
7. Manage site services including security, cleaning, catering, and landscaping.
8. Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts for delegated spend, ensuring value for money.
9. Lead capital expenditure projects from planning through execution.
10. Supervise and coordinate contractor activities, ensuring quality and compliance.
11. Responsible for producing the weekly, monthly and periodic reports as required in line with KPI’s, contractual requirements and legal compliance.
12. Foster a positive working environment aligned with company values.
13. Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues, including out-of-hours support.
14. Liaise with internal departments and external bodies to ensure efficient operations.
15. Manage relationships with suppliers of materials, services, and utilities.
About you
16. Significant experience in a similar role in a production facility, factory, mixed use site.
17. Experience of managing more than one site.
18. People Management experience – desirable.
19. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
20. Commitment to working as part of a team
21. An understanding of health and safety requirements of a working environment
22. Working knowledge of environmental regulations
23. Good understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles
24. Attention to detail and good time management
25. Good IT skills
Qualifications
26. IWFM/Degree in facilities management or a related engineering discipline
27. Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) certification in Managing Safely. (Or relevant experience/qualification)
28. Minimum of three years’ experience in an FM role
Desirable Requirements
29. Degree in facilities management or related discipline
30. Achieved or working towards chartered status
31. Member BICS British Institute of Cleaning Science L8 Legionella & the Role of the Responsible Person
32. Full Member of (BIFM) British Institute of Facilities Management
33. First Aid certificate
34. Chief Fire warden certification
