Lead Engineer - Earthing and LV – Engineering Design and Standards
Location: Glasgow HQ
Salary: £60,800 – £76,000 + Excellent Benefits Programme

What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead the development and implementation of equipment specifications for Earthing and LV Service Positions to ensure legal & licence compliance.
* Perform all duties with a strong emphasis on health, safety, quality and environmental matters.
* Prepare Earthing and LV technical specifications and guidance to ensure SPEN is compliant with statutory legislation.
* Engage with T&D equipment suppliers through engineering specification development, tendering processes and the approval of system assets.
* Communicate with wider business stakeholders on the introduction of new plant, specifications and processes.
* Support T&D staff regarding Earthing and LV Service Position inquiries, including support to the Earthing Steering Group and LV Asset Stewardship Group.
* Monitor advances in technology, equipment and best practice and steer sustainable, innovative solutions across the Iberdrola Group.
* Participate and lead in Iberdrola global working groups such as INS and best practice forums.
* Represent SPEN interests at external national and industry bodies such as ENA, National Grid, BSI, CIGRE and the IET.
What You’ll Bring
* Experience in Earthing at all voltage levels across T&D.
* Experience in LV service positions.
* Knowledge of Earthing and LV equipment standards & specifications.
* Understanding of network design philosophy & policy.
* Familiarity with T&D Network operations and Safety Rules.
* Experience in asset failure investigation and reporting.
* Awareness of legal & licence obligations and conditions.
* Knowledge of purchasing policy & legal obligations.
* Ability to devise solutions to complex problems & challenges.
* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical & non‑technical audiences, verbally and in writing.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
