Job Opportunity: Researcher at University of Southampton
An exciting opportunity is available for a talented researcher to join the large and successful School of Health Sciences at the University of Southampton. You will join a multidisciplinary team developing a communication guide delivered by physiotherapists to improve self-management support for older people living with multiple long-term conditions and their carers in the home setting.
The work involves:
1. Conducting qualitative research (observations of physiotherapy practice, interviews with patients and carers, focus groups with physiotherapists) to explore their experiences of self-management support.
2. Organizing stakeholder workshops to co-produce the intervention.
3. Performing initial evaluation in practice.
This role includes gaining ethical approvals, recruiting participants, conducting qualitative work, analyzing data, and publishing findings. You will work with PPI and a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements:
* Experience in qualitative research and a good understanding of social science applied health research.
* Ability to work independently and efficiently in a research setting.
* Excellent written English skills with meticulous attention to detail.
We offer flexible working patterns. A standard DBS check is required.
Applications are welcome from candidates working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD. The title of Research Fellow will be awarded upon PhD completion; prior to that, the title of Senior Research Assistant will be used.
