Overview
Amazon is seeking Snr Site Process Engineers to work in the EU Process Engineering (EU PE) team. The Site Process Engineer is an onsite position.
The EU PE team is a group of operational leaders driving process stabilization, standardization and continuous improvement for the EU Customer Fulfilment Network. This team is essential to establish best in class process performance across all different direct and indirect processes, accelerate implementation of technological advancements and to strengthen the technical acumen and process knowledge for the operational leaders across the FC network. EU PE ensures the operations teams are equipped with the functional expertise to successfully deliver expected gains for technology advances and network wide process improvements. The team drives process control and shifting mean performance with the outcome of minimizing variation between shifts, building and region, to deliver strong performance. The team works closely with Process System Engineering (PSE), ACES PM, Central Ops, launch teams, operations engineering and reliability and maintenance (RME) teams to improve the input metrics for each of the process paths by prioritizing and channelling resources.
Responsibilities
* Work on Back to Basics (B2B) initiatives identifying the top opportunities in the FC in comparison with the other EU FCs. Identify input metrics with the biggest gap to OP2 and implement the improvement action plan in close collaboration with the local Operations Management team following the standard improvement templates.
* Oversee the FC improvement program and set focus on the most important areas, based on alignment with the FC Senior Leadership team.
* Dive deep into process performance by using available standard reports or creating own data analysis, call out in daily dive deep meetings and collect feedback from the local team to convert into a tangible improvement plan that matters to the FC.
* Review open Action Plans on a weekly basis, engaging FC stakeholders to complete the suggested actions and reach the desired targets.
* Collaborate with central PE functions and other Site PEs from the same region to clarify process questions and leverage their expertise. Benchmarking initiatives are recommended to reduce variation across FCs.
* Work on Continuous Improvement with the FC: drive network best practice implementation, share locally led initiatives with EU PE for review, and add approved best practices to the EU Best Practice repository.
* Strengthen the framework to capture and scale FC innovation. New ideas and projects flow through a standard process and are presented to ACES process SMEs for review.
* Ensure major projects (e.g., 10M$+ WW saving) are captured in the Operating Plan Q1 (OP1) Project Intake each year.
* Own the deployment of EU network initiatives assigned to the FC, ensuring timely execution and compliance. Support the FC to commit to tests and pilots for EU Projects to avoid delays and ensure deployment across EU FCs.
* Partnership with the FC Ops: join the daily Gemba on the floor with FC Leadership to stay aligned with top issues and Associate feedback; organize weekly LSC meetings reporting on EU Back To Basics (B2B), EU Projects, EU Best practices, and FC initiatives eligible for test or pilot. Support Site Leader and FC Senior Management Team to build trust and buy-in for initiatives; ad hoc process tasks from the FC accounting for <10% of working time.
* Be ready to support or lead EU Projects to expand scope and coordinate multiple FCs to enhance project management skills and stakeholder engagement.
* During Q4 you will be deployed to the site management operational team, based on site need.
* Ability to travel as needed within your area of responsibility. Domestic and regional travel estimate: 0-10% (subject to change based on business need).
Qualifications
* Basic: Degree from an accredited institution
* English & Local Language (Common European Framework of Reference C1)
* Experience in Operations as Area/Operations Manager or comparable experience
* High proficiency of technical knowledge of at least one Fulfilment process path (Quriosity silver/gold certification)
* Strong professional experience with Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies
