CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-term Contract / Attachment, Full-time (01 June 26 - 26 February 27)
DEPARTMENT: Childrens & Education, BBC Bitesize
LOCATION: Salford - Hybrid
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,600 - £31,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As the BBC’s formal learning website, Bitesize helps millions of students to progress their education. Researchers are integral to the success of the teams delivering content. You will work closely with Bitesize Producers and Assistant Producers, focusing on the future of personalised learning, creating curriculum aligned questions, digital interactions, and innovative content across the web, app and email newsletters.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

* You will support the organisation and delivery of key teacher‑facing events and industry events.
* You will write copy for newsletters, source images and design the layout of these newsletters, working with the teams to ensure accuracy of copy/messaging.
* You will collate the data for all newsletters, analysing performance and sharing performance reports with the relevant teams.
* You will be part of the Bitesize team at event locations including organisation of teacher‑facing events including BETT and the Festival of Education
* You will help order merchandise, design posters, co‑ordinate registration and assist with other logistics.


YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

* Promotional content: Experience of writing, scheduling and editing newsletters and other audience promotional content.
* Communication: Experience of working and managing relationships with internal and external teams and partners to deliver audience event projects.
* Event organisation: Experience of organising and delivering promotional events working with external providers on event management.
* Design: Ability to generate and design ideas for newsletters, leaflets, backdrops and promotional material.
* Audience awareness: Experience of the education marketplace and the needs of teachers, students and parents and an insight in to the digital media habits of 5‑16 year olds.

This role requires a relevant DBS check to be undertaken by the BBC at the appropriate level, at the point of offer of a contract of employment.
