When we say this is a big opportunity, we mean it. And we have the evidence to back it up.
Here you'll be the only IFA in Scotland for an accountancy firm with 10 partners/directors and thousands of accountancy clients. For context, another region with 12,000 accountancy supports 8 IFAs, with those planners writing £500,000 - £750,000 per annum. So, you'll have plenty to go at.
And it's not only a quantity thing.
80% of clients are business owners, so there's a lot of scope for high-income cases and referrals. You'll need to build relationships, but you won't be starting from scratch — this is a team/business that understands financial planning.
This appreciation extends to the admin and paraplanning support you'll receive. The firm wants their planners to focus on gaining referrals and seeing clients, supported by their team.
Management style is light-touch. The leadership team has been at the business for years, leading from the front. They empower their IFAs and trust them to do their jobs while promoting financial planning.
Salary ranges from £60,000 to £80,000, with flexibility based on performance, experience, and exam status. There's a bonus scheme where you earn 25% over validation, plus a full benefits package including:
* 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
* The option to buy or sell up to 5 days a year
* Pension
* Healthcare
Yes, there's some hard work ahead.
But there's a large client book to approach, supported by colleagues.
You'll operate independently with your advice and methods. There's scope to specialise if desired.
You'll also have the support of the wider financial planning team.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
You'll be a self-starter and confident financial planner with 5+ years of post-CAS advice experience. Good technical skills and progress toward Chartered status are required.
However, your mindset, drive, and ability to leverage relationships are more important.
This is a significant opportunity, but the company views it as a medium/long-term role, so expectations are set accordingly. It can be a place to end your career, but initially, there's a lot of work to do. If your focus is on earning more immediately, this might not be the right role.
You'll be a visible presence in the region, spending much time client-facing. Flexibility is essential.
You should want to work for an independent financial planner.
