Key Responsibilities:
1. Building strong, trusting relationships with students to support emotional and behavioural growth
2. Helping pupils to regulate emotions and develop positive behaviour strategies
3. Providing 1:1 and small group support across academic and therapeutic sessions
4. Supporting students at risk of exclusion or disengagement from education
5. Assisting teachers in lesson delivery and classroom management
6. Using restorative practices and trauma-informed approaches to manage conflict
7. Encouraging life skills, independence, and resilience in a nurturing environment
What We’re Looking For in Reading:
8. Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, Youth & Community Work, or a related field
9. Candidates with relevant experience in youth work, mentoring, or care settings are also encouraged to apply
10. A sincere motivation to work with vulnerable children and young people
11. A calm, resilient, and empathetic attitude, especially when dealing with challenging behaviours
12. A passion for social justice, rehabilitation, and inclusive education
13. Experience with SEMH or neurodivergent learners is beneficial but not essential – full training is provided
