We are embarking on our flagship project, a revolutionary portable energy management and storage system designed to efficiently harvest human kinetic energy and transform it into usable electric power.
Role Overview:
We seek experienced Electronics Experts (consultants or subcontractors) who are passionate about sustainable technologies and possess extensive knowledge in designing sophisticated energy management systems. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining remote work with on-site tasks at our Preston office in NW England.
Key Responsibilities:
•Design, prototype, and test innovative energy management systems that combine analogue and digital technologies with mechatronic devices.
•Design PCB layouts for prototype verification and testing, and oversee the production processes.
•Ensure full compliance with relevant electrical safety, emissions and regulatory standards.
•Collaborate closely with our mechanical and product engineering teams.
•Deliver complete documentation and insights essential for ongoing product improvements.
Required Qualifications and abilities:
•Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
•10 years or more of proven experience in electronics design and product implementation.
•Robust analogue and digital circuit design skills.
•Experienced in embedded systems – microcontrollers (typically PIC or SOC) and associated firmware development.
•Expertise in high-efficiency power electronics engineering (DC/DC and AC/DC machine interfacing, inverters, chargers).
•Comprehensive understanding and use of component technologies (e.g. MOSFETS, supercapacitor and induction technologies.
•Exhibit proficiency with PCB design software (Altium Designer, Eagle, Proteus or equivalent).
•Deep knowledge of global compliance standards and regulatory frameworks.
Preferred Skills:
•Previous experience working with the latest energy storage and retrieval technologies.
•Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and iterative testing methodologies.
•Exceptional analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
