Trainee Quantity Surveyor – The Company
Our client is a well-established regional main contractor delivering Cat A and Cat B commercial fit out, refurbishment, and construction projects across the South West. Known for repeat business and a strong reputation in the local market, the company continues to grow steadily and is now looking to bring a Trainee Quantity Surveyor into the team as part of their long-term succession planning.

Trainee Quantity Surveyor – The Role
This is a genuine entry-level Trainee Quantity Surveyor position based from the Bristol office, with regular site exposure across local projects. You will work closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, supporting the day-to-day commercial management of fit out and construction projects while learning the fundamentals of the role.
Full training will be provided, including support with further education where required. Day release is fully supported for candidates currently studying or looking to enrol on a construction-related qualification.
Responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with cost control and budget management across live projects
* Supporting the preparation of valuations and cost reports
* Helping with subcontractor procurement and administration
* Assisting with variations, final accounts, and commercial documentation
* Learning how to manage project costs from tender through to final account
* Working closely with site teams to understand project delivery
Trainee Quantity Surveyor – The Person
* No prior Quantity Surveying experience is required
* Suitable for school leavers, A-Level students, or those on a construction-related HND or Degree course
* Keen to build a long-term career in Quantity Surveying
* Comfortable working from a Bristol base with local site travel
* Positive attitude, organised, and willing to learn
* Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in construction
