Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Set & operate CNC/NC grinders including surface, centerless, cylindrical and jig grinders
2. Set & operate NC and manual lathes and mills
3. Set & operate EDM and WEDM machinery
4. Perform final assembly of new plastic and elastomer injection/compression molds and press tools.
5. Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and modify existing tooling.
6. Provide technical support to design teams, contractors, and production staff.
7. Comply with all corporate and local site Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures and regulations
8. Read and interpret engineering drawings, raising questions where needed.
9. Act with professionalism and integrity in line with company standards.
10. Report and resolve any near miss accidents, incidents or HSE irregularities and prevent future occurrences
11. Resolve issues within your area and escalate when necessary through the LDMS process.
12. Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
13. Required: Formal engineering apprenticeship to NVQ3 level/City and Guilds or equivalent relevant work experience
14. Desirable: Higher National Certificate in Engineering Discipline
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
15. Required: Extensive experience in plastic injection mould and press tool manufacture Strong CNC and conventional toolroom machining experience (mills, lathes, grinders) Proficient in precision measurement, modern cutting techniques, and engineering drawing interpretation Competent PC user
