Role: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum | Dependant on Experience
Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00–16:00 | Flexible hours available

The Client:
Interaction Recruitment is working with a global innovator in industrial inkjet technology to recruit a Supplier Quality Engineer for their team in Cambridgeshire. This is a high-impact role offering autonomy, technical variety, and the opportunity to work with a broad supplier base across multiple manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving supplier performance, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement in a high-precision engineering environment.

The Duties:
8. Evaluate, approve, and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality requirements
9. Lead PPAP activities and ensure robust change control
10. Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier non-conformances
11. Conduct supplier audits (UK and international) with the procurement team
12. Collaborate with internal engineering teams to support new product introductions and changes
13. Monitor supplier quality metrics and lead improvement initiatives
14. Provide technical guidance on quality tools, process control, and metrology methods
The Requirements:
15. HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline
16. Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems
17. Technical knowledge of moulding, casting, stamping, and other mechanical manufacturing processes
18. Proven experience in a supplier quality role within a manufacturing environment
19. Skilled in PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, and other core quality tools
20. Familiarity with metrology equipment and techniques (e.g. CMM, GD&T, gauges)
21. Experience resolving quality issues at customer or supplier sites (national and international)
22. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
23. Resilient and assertive, with the ability to influence and drive supplier improvements
24. Willingness to travel as required
