Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Care

Salary: Up to £41,300.00
Hours: 39 hours per week
The Opportunity
We’re working with a well-established children’s care provider rated Good by Ofsted, who are now seeking a passionate Deputy Manager to join their dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a senior role where you’ll play a key part in supporting the Registered Manager and ensuring the highest standards of care for young people (11–17) with emotional and behavioural needs.
As Deputy Manager, you’ll be a strong role model for the team — leading by example, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring that every child receives consistent, nurturing, and person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home
* Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of residential support staff
* Ensure the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained at all times
* Oversee care planning, behaviour management, and placement outcomes
* Participate in on-call duties and sleep-ins as required
* Manage rotas, budgets, and reporting duties effectively
* Foster a supportive, safe, and structured environment where young people can thrive
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting at Senior or Deputy level
* Level 3 Diploma (Children and Young People or equivalent) – Level 5 preferred or willingness to work towards
* Sound understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and quality standards
* Confident in managing teams, delegating responsibilities, and maintaining compliance
* A Full UK Driving Licence is essential
