Location: Guildford | Salary: From £153 per day
Are you an Early Career Teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people?
This is an incredible opportunity to launch your teaching career while developing the specialist skills to support students at risk of County Lines exploitation, social exclusion, or mental health challenges.
I’m Farhad, and I’m personally recruiting for this rewarding ECT role in Guildford. To find out more, call me on 01483 323100 or email farhad.shahid@milk-education.co.uk today.
Why This Role?
This is not a standard ECT placement. You’ll be joining a supportive secondary school that values inclusion, resilience, and positive relationships above all else.
You’ll be teaching and mentoring pupils aged 11–16, helping them re-engage with learning, develop confidence, and make safer life choices.
Many of these students have faced barriers linked to:
* County Lines or gang exposure
* SEMH needs such as ADHD, anxiety, or trauma
* Challenging home circumstances or poor attendance
You’ll gain real-world classroom experience while shaping futures and building a meaningful teaching career.
What You Will Do
* Deliver engaging, creative lessons tailored to students’ needs
* Build trusting, professional relationships with pupils and staff
* Implement restorative and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour management
* Support the school’s safeguarding and wellbeing initiatives
* Be a role model for perseverance, empathy, and positive decision-making
What We’re Looking For
* Newly Qualified or Early Career Teachers (QTS achieved or pending)
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* A passion for supporting vulnerable and disengaged young people
* Resilience, empathy, and a calm, professional approach
* A genuine interest in County Lines prevention, Youth Work or Social Care
What You’ll Gain
* Specialist training in County Lines prevention and trauma-informed practice
* Tailored mentoring from experienced staff to support your ECT induction
* Professional development opportunities across education and safeguarding
* The chance to make a real impact in your first year of teaching
