Permanent, fixed term contract. Full time, 42.5 hours per week. Salary: £41,127 - £52,713 per annum plus £2,652 Local Living Allowance (applies to all, including those under 21).
Are you looking for a fun and varied job in hospitality management? YHA London Earls Court is seeking a Hostel Manager to lead their team. The hostel is located near Earl's Court Underground station, in a Victorian building with a courtyard garden, close to Olympia, Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, the Natural History Museum and the Royal Albert Hall.
As a Hostel Manager you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the hostel, creating a great environment for our teams and ensuring our guests have an outstanding experience across our hostels.

What will you be doing as a Hostel Manager?
We provide training for the role. You will be involved from day one, including:
* Achievement of targets across all aspects of the hostel operation, including food and beverage. You will be accountable for maximising revenue while controlling expenditure.
* Managing a team of employees and volunteers.
* Contributing to the day-to-day operation of the hostel, undertaking tasks as required (e.g., housekeeping, reception, food and beverage duties).
Skills and experience needed
Our Hostel Managers are responsible for line management of the hostel teams, occasional volunteers, and managing the operational budget and safeguarding of all guests. The following qualifications and experience are required or desirable:
* Proven experience in the hospitality industry (hotels, cafés, hostels)
* Experience of people management (recruitment, induction, development, performance reviews)
* Excellent customer service skills and handling difficult situations
* Ability to manage varying pressures, prioritise, and handle conflicting duties
* Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications (desirable)
* Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel)
* Experience of managing P&Ls and budgets, cash handling
* Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA and how we operate
