We’re seeking a trustee with accounting expertise to join Walk N Talk 4 Mental Health. Help us shape strategy, oversee finances, and ensure our charity makes the biggest possible impact for people’s mental health.

As trustee accountant, you will ensure Walk N Talk 4 Mental Health is financially secure and well-governed, enabling us to expand our reach and support more people. Your guidance will directly shape how we grow, helping us continue offering safe spaces for conversations, tackling stigma, and building community resilience. By sharing your expertise, you’ll be empowering a grassroots charity to thrive and deliver hope where it’s needed most.

Skills, Experience And Qualities
We are looking for someone who can bring both professional expertise and personal commitment to our cause.
Essential Skills And Experience
* A recognised background in accounting, finance, or related professional experience
* Ability to interpret financial information and present it clearly to non-financial trustees
* Understanding of financial controls, risk management, and good governance
* Confidence in supporting annual accounts, budgets, and financial planning
Desirable Skills And Experience
* Familiarity with charity finance, SORP, or trustee responsibilities (training can be provided)
* Experience of working within the voluntary or community sector
* Knowledge of fundraising, grant management, or charity sustainability would be an advantage
Personal qualities
* Passionate about improving mental health and reducing stigma
* Collaborative and a good communicator, able to work well with a diverse board
* Reliable, with the ability to balance strategic oversight with attention to detail
* Open-minded, empathetic, and supportive of our inclusive, community-driven values

Walk N Talk 4 Mental Health is a Hampshire-based charity that promotes conversation, connection, and wellbeing through regular community walks and awareness initiatives.
What You’ll Do
* Provide financial oversight and ensure good governance
* Support budgeting, reporting, and financial planning
* Help us use our funds effectively to deliver real impact
* Contribute to strategic decisions as part of a supportive board
What We’re Looking For
* Professional experience in accounting, finance, or related fields
* Ideally some experience of charity finance or governance
* A commitment to our mission of reducing stigma and improving mental health
* Someone who is collaborative, supportive, and willing to share their expertise
This is a voluntary role, but an opportunity to make a lasting difference in a growing charity and to work alongside a committed and passionate team.
Location Hampshire (meetings are a mix of in-person and online).
