Senior Land Drainage Enforcement Engineers (2 posts)
Are you ready to take on exciting challenges in Flood Risk engineering which will help to protect and improve our community?
You will join a dedicated team and play an important role in the design, development and delivery of critical flood risk engineering and maintenance projects that reduce the risk to our community and strengthen resilience against environmental challenges. This is your opportunity to help shape a sustainable future.
This is an ideal opportunity for individuals who:
have expertise in Flood Risk Management, construction or engineering disciplines.
excel in coordinating projects and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure alignment and seamless delivery of workstreams.
have extensive experience in designing and managing engineering projects from inception through to completion.
possess a strong understanding of national and local standards and legislation, such as Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) guidelines and CDM Regulations.
have excellent communication skills together with the ability to provide technical expertise and recommendations on complex engineering issues.
Key responsibilities include:
delivering complex engineering and flood and coastal risk management projects, ensuring that they meet cost, quality and time requirements.
working with external bodies, contractors and stakeholders to gather information, resolve issues and align projects with broader goals.
designing construction and maintenance schemes from concept to completion.

Examples of some current projects include:
Multi Award winning £19m Cottingham and Orchard Park Flood Alleviation Scheme (COPFAS)
Multi Award winning £12m Hessle Foreshore Tidal Defence Scheme (HFTDS)
It is not essential that you have worked for a council or the public sector previously, as appropriate mentoring and training will be provided.
BENEFITS
The council offers several benefits, including a generous pension scheme and leave allowance, various flexible working options and access to appropriate further training and education. This includes a training agreement with the Institution of Civil Engineers to co-ordinate both the academic and practical training leading to a professional qualification either EngTech MICE or IEng MICE or CEng MICE.
Based at County Hall, Beverley for 37 hours each per week however some travel maybe required.
