About the role

Our Insurance Audit practice is market leading with an extensive portfolio of flagship clients across all areas of the market - Life, Non-Life, London Markets and Broking. Our team of 350 experts deliver audit services to our clients from offices across the UK. This provides our staff with a varied experience and great opportunities to learn and develop.

Joining Insurance Audit will give you the opportunity to work on both large and smaller audits. There is a broad range of client roles to align to your interest or give you a new challenge. Understanding our clients' businesses and the risks they face is at the heart of what we do and is of utmost importance in upholding the highest levels of audit quality.

As a Manager, you'll lead a team of forward-thinking individuals to deliver high quality audits. You'll gain in-depth knowledge into how businesses run, gain direct access to internal stakeholders and clients and work with an unrivalled range of organisations we audit. Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
1. Leading multi-location teams, using your team and relationship management skills to ensure the delivery of high quality audit work - from planning to completion of an Audit, including the review of financial statements, ensuring that it meets PwC and regulatory standards;
2. Leading on the completion of areas of complex or judgemental audit work which includes the identification of issues, analysis of data, articulation of findings and the ability to draw informed conclusions;
3. Managing the financial and resource aspects of Audit engagements, demonstrating a commercial approach throughout;
4. Leading on internal projects supporting PwC and the lines of service, as well as acting as a role model, mentor and coach for junior staff members in your business unit;


The skills and experience we are looking for:

5. Must possess a Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA / ICAS qualification (or an international equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. This includes international candidates who qualify through experience in their home country;
6. Experience of IFRS and/or UK GAAP and international standards on auditing;
7. Strong project management skills and experience managing an audit from planning to completion;
8. Confident in challenging yourself and others to complete high quality testing and documentation;
9. Ability to establish and nurture positive relationships across all levels - both internally and externally.
