This post is open to Armed Forces Community Applicants only The Audiology Service in NHS Fife is a busy clinical / technical service, caring in particular for the hearing needs of the local population. The Audiology Service is looking to recruit a highly motivated, hardworking individual with an enthusiasm for working in a fast paced, people oriented environment. The role focuses primarily on front line duties that support our adult hearing aid users. This work will be carried out through direct and indirect patient contact providing information, advice and technical support to hearing aid users which will include the repair and replacement of hearing aid systems. The successful candidate must be a member of the Armed Forces Community (i.e. a veteran, service leaver or a member of their family including spouse, partner or dependent), must exhibit excellent communication skills, demonstrate a people focused demeanour and have a good understanding of working with people with a sensory impairment. Practical skills in the use of modern technology are preferred however specific training to support the repair and maintenance of hearing aid systems will be given. Candidates who can demonstrate previous experience of working in a busy patient / customer oriented role are encouraged to apply. A car owner/driver is preferred as occasional travel to our other sites may be required but not essential.
