ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, talented, and experienced Systems Engineer to join GE Vernova Power Conversion Lead Engineering team. We are seeking a skilled Lead Systems Integration Engineer to lead the integration of rotating electrical machines and their control systems within a major UK Naval project, managing a dedicated team.
This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in engineering, and the ability to derive top-level requirements down to sub-systems, ensuring seamless interface management and system integration. The Lead Systems Integration Engineer will report to the Systems Lead Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of system engineers focused on integrating rotating electrical machinery and control systems.
* Develop strategies for optimal system performance and compatibility.
* Manage interfaces between subsystems, ensuring interoperability and resolving issues promptly.
* Derive requirements and translate them into detailed specifications, maintaining traceability.
* Apply engineering principles to address integration challenges, support verification and validation.
* Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders, communicate progress effectively.
* Maintain detailed documentation and ensure compliance with standards.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements, manage budgets and risks, liaise with external partners, and support quality control and APQP deliverables.
Qualifications
* Degree or higher in engineering; Masters or PhD preferred.
* BPSS clearance or ability to obtain it.
* Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink; eTAP desirable.
* Extensive experience in systems integration, especially in naval/maritime rotating electrical systems.
* Proven leadership skills, understanding of motor/generator tech, control design, interface management.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
