Techniche are supporting a leading automotive manufacturer to appoint an experienced Automotive Engineer who has experience with Chassis Mechatronics / braking modulation systems. For this role Automotive industry experience is essential. Exposure to Chassis Mechatronics is required, specifically and understanding of braking modulation / systems (e.g. Electric Boosters, Braking Modulations, steering systems etc)Pay Rate: up to £30.78p/hr PAYE+ holiday and pension payLocation: Cranfield, Bedfordshire - hybrid (3 days working in the office; 2 days WFH)Duration: 12 months rolling contract Role Responsibilities:Manage application of global design and follow the development at system / module levelSupplier management (cost / quality and timing)Meeting regulation & safety performanceManaging and reporting test validationManaging and reporting cost performanceManaging and reporting part quality / reliabilityManaging and reporting adoption timing and deliveryTechnical analysis of market concerns (root cause investigation)Secure industry leading customer satisfactionExecute competitor benchmark and trend, research & analysisSupporting global strategies by feeding into Nissan Japan the European customer voiceWork within a cross functional global team (mainly Japan, Germany, France, Spain)Main location will be office based in Cranfield, but role can include travel to suppliers, other Company’s offices and Company’s manufacturing plants. Background And Experience:Previous automotive design and development experiencePrior knowledge of Steering System, Brake Modulation and Electric Booster at a vehicle/system application levelPrior knowledge of manufacturing processes and the development process for Steering and Brake modulation/electric boosterValid driving license and able to travel globallyAptitude to understand new technologies and systems by clear application of engineering principles and knowledgeBachelor’s degree (or equivalent)Aptitude to understand new technologies and systems by clear application of engineering principles and knowledgeIT literate, competent user of all Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.Knowledge of Matlab/SimulinkValid driving licence for UK and European countriesExperience of investigating and resolving software logic related concerns in an Automotive type of environment.Good problem-solving skills with knowledge of Design Review, FTA and FMEA activities.Good working knowledge and practical experience of developing components/systems used in a safety related automotive environment (ISO 26262)Knowledge and experience of recording and analysing inter system communication via CAN.Knowledge of application and use of diagnostic tools and diagnostic communication.Time management skills
