About ARU
ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). ARU’s research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.
About The Role
To support delivery against our institutional strategies, we’re pleased to offer a new opportunity for a fixed-term Schools and Colleges Evaluation Officer to join our growing Schools and Colleges Engagement Team within the Directorate of Corporate Marketing.
Working closely with the Schools and Colleges Senior Officer (Impact and Evaluation), you’ll play a key role in monitoring and evaluating our outreach and student recruitment activity. This includes assessing the effectiveness of events, initiatives, and strategic partnerships with schools and colleges.
You’ll help shape project-level Theory of Change and evaluation frameworks, ensuring data collection processes are accurate and compliant, and that records are clean and reliable. Using systems such as the Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT) and software including Microsoft Excel and SPSS, you’ll analyse and report on data to demonstrate impact.
You will have a degree or be suitably qualified in a relevant professional qualification at degree level appropriate to the role or appropriate level of experience and evidence of CPD. To thrive in this role, you’ll be confident in collecting, processing and analysing both qualitative and quantitative data, and skilled at clearly communicating the value of evaluation to colleagues and partners. You’ll be highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to embedding robust evaluation practices across our work.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team making a meaningful difference to student outcomes and institutional impact. The successful applicant will be based at either our Cambridge, Chelmsford, or Peterborough campus, with the option of occasional remote working. Some travel between campuses and work outside of normal office hours is expected.
At ARU, we’re proud to be a university that transforms lives through education. If you’re ready to join a collaborative, supportive team that values innovation and inclusion to inspire the next generation, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a fixed-term position for 6 months. We expect face‑to‑face interviews will take place on Tuesday 28 April 2026, campus location tbc.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of our staff and students and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants should be aware that ARU will carry out online searches as part of the due diligence on short listed candidates.

Furthermore, we must note:
* Applicants applying from outside the UK: At this time, ARU is unable to sponsor applicants applying from overseas for a Worker Route visa.
* Applicants already in the UK: ARU is unable to offer Worker Route visa sponsorship to applicants whose salary does not meet our minimum sponsorship threshold, which aligns with roles at Grade 6 and above.
